Skagen Gaard
A manor for inspiration by the tidal flow
Skagen Gaard was built as a manor farm in 1624. Sheltered by the Børvasstindene mountains on the island Straumøya by the sound Saltstraumen you will find this historic guesthouse. The place has been restored keeping nostalgia intact, and the atmosphere is marked by a love of tradition and original style. The picturesque bedrooms have old-fashioned sliding beds and wood ovens. In the dining room “Stuggu” there is no electric light. The atmosphere is created by the glow of kerosene lamps and candlelight. Forget all those uninspiring meeting rooms; the old school room has desks with lids and walls with world maps. At Skagen Gaard you can also experience Saltstraumen with the most powerful tidal current in the world, salmon fishing in Beiam, mountain walks, and cave expeditions. Enjoy a virutal trip at 360 grader
